Currently, we have an opening for a Product Master – Telemetry and Proximity Detection Systems. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert and the division’s primary technical contact, bridging two-way communication between the Sales Area and the EQ Product Line/factory. You will ensure frontline readiness for new technologies and product introductions (parts, resources, training), proactively plan operational readiness, and support Newtrax Global Support across the following technologies:
Mining Equipment Telemetry (MET): including datalogger configuration, and parameter discovery.
Advanced Proximity Detection System (APDS) and Collision Avoidance System (CAS): including installation procedures, configurations, and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).

What you will be doing:

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for MET, APDS, and CAS solutions, serving as the technical contact between the Sales Areas and Product Line/factory.
  • Provide 2nd-line technical support, including structured root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Collect and document technical feedback from the Sales Areas, maintaining inputs in the technical database to drive continuous improvement.
  • Make data-driven recommendations to improve customer outcomes and internal processes.
  • Perform on-site and remote adjustments/configuration of systems on customer equipment.
  • Work proactively to develop new solutions that prevent recurring issues.
  • Provide application advice to Sales upon request and support review of operating cost proposals.
  • Take technical and application ownership of market releases for new products/versions and manage ramp-down of legacy products.
  • Conduct and/or support product launches, testing, commissioning, and SATs.
  • Ensure frontline operational readiness (parts, resources, training) for new technologies and product introductions; maintain and execute an operational readiness plan.
  • Support large project readiness activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute technical inputs during the New Product Development (NPD) process.
  • Provide aftermarket support to Automation and Equipment divisions and Sales Areas.
  • Prepare and execute all activities in line with Sandvik Environmental Health and Safety rules, regulations, procedures, instructions, and guidelines; promote safety awareness and address anomalies.
  • Coach, mentor, and train (including knowledge transfer between factory and Sales Areas).
  • Collaborate closely with Automation and Parts & Services divisions and take technical responsibility for training interventions in the relevant Sales Areas.

What you will bring along:

  • Relevant technical education and practical experience in mining equipment telemetry, industrial automation, electronics, mechatronics, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • Demonstrated expertise with installation, configuration, commissioning, and SATs for MET dataloggers, APDS, and CAS solutions.
  • Strong 2nd-line troubleshooting capability and root cause analysis skills, including interpretation of telemetry/diagnostic data and system parameters.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Line Managers, factories, and Sales Areas; ability to translate field feedback into actionable improvements.
  • Competence in producing technical documentation, training materials, and maintaining databases/records.
  • Familiarity with industrial communications and networks (e.g., CANbus, Ethernet), sensors/actuators, and embedded/edge configuration tools.
  • Proven ability to coach and deliver training to frontline teams.
  • Strong communication skills, customer focus, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in customer environments (including mining sites) and manage priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

  • Adhere to Sandvik’s Environmental, Health & Safety (SHEQ) policies and procedures.
  • Attend related training sessions and wear all mandatory PPE as needed when visiting Sandvik and customer facilities.
