ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Sales Engineer for Dormer Pramet, you will play a key role in promoting and selling our innovative range of cutting tools in Norway. You will grow business with existing end users and distribution partners, while also identifying and developing new opportunities. The role is home-based, meaning you operate from your home office and plan your customer visits independently. Today the position covers the entire Norwegian market, but you will receive close support from your direct manager. Our long-term ambition is to strengthen our Norwegian presence by adding more sales representatives, enabling a more focused and district-based approach.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role involves providing technical advice and support, resolving customer challenges efficiently, and working closely with our distribution network to drive mutual success. You’ll also conduct cutting tool tests, interpret technical drawings, and demonstrate value through cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage sales of products and services to a small number of large customers within an assigned geographical territory.
- Retain and grow business with existing customers and generate sales from new customers.
- Anticipate and understand customer needs and match them with our product offering to maximize customer value and profitability.
- Pursue sales leads; visit existing and new customers of strategic importance; assess customer needs; propose suitable solutions; negotiate within set authority limits; and close orders to meet revenue targets.
- Collect and communicate relevant business and market intelligence to product and sales management.
- Use the company’s CRM system consistently to document customer interactions, manage sales activities, update opportunity pipelines, and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly sales plans and prioritize activities to achieve targets.
- Coach and mentor less experienced sales representatives when needed.
- Conduct customer training sessions related to new products, applications, and best practices to strengthen customer competence and drive product adoption.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll bring a solid engineering background along with product knowledge and sales experience. Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset will serve you well, as will being results-driven and resilient. Excellent organisation and negotiation skills are essential, and experience within relevant industry segments is highly desirable.
