Sandvik Mining and Construction DRC is a Sales Unit based in Lubumbashi, within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, a business area that is a leading supplier of equipment and tools, as well as service and support, for the mining industry. We also provide solutions and knowledge in a wide range of applications such as rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunnelling and quarrying.

Your mission

You will serve as the primary point of contact for internal customers, managing the procurement process from enquiry to order and ensuring compliance with company policies. This role supports the sales team by improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction while adhering to Sandvik’s global procurement standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for internal stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate handling of enquiries, orders, and cash collection.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to support the achievement of sales objectives and enhance customer experience.

  • Manage and develop existing supplier relationships in line with company segmentation, rules, and procedures.

  • Ensure full compliance with Sandvik’s Indirect Purchasing Policy and procurement Levels of Authority (LOA).

  • Obtain and evaluate three competitive quotations for all purchases; justify if not available.

  • Verify the availability, quality, and pricing before making a purchase.

  • Execute the Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process, including raising purchase orders and related documentation in accordance with company policy.

  • Ensure accurate selection of warehouse or delivery location when generating purchase orders.

  • Maintain organised hard copy filing of all purchase orders by category, including all supporting documents.

  • Facilitate supplier onboarding in compliance with Sandvik’s procurement policy, ensuring all required documents are signed (T&Cs, ABC, CoC, Supplier Assessment).

  • Ensure approvals for requisitions and purchase orders from relevant department heads.

  • Conduct price analysis and justification for all purchases.

  • Coordinate with Finance to determine Capex vs Opex classification and complete Capex requests where applicable.

  • Submit the Outstanding Purchase Orders Report (AURRSGLB0020) by the 5th of each month.

  • Maintain frequent communication with end users regarding Capex and standard purchase orders.

  • Uphold housekeeping and safety standards at all times, attending weekly safety meetings as required.

  • Perform any other reasonable duties aligned with strategic goals and operational requirements.

Your Profile

We are looking for a Congolese citizen, a results-driven professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field, bringing over five years of experience in procurement and indirect purchasing. Demonstrates strong expertise in P2P processes and compliance requirements, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to organisational standards.

Highly skilled in communication and negotiation, with proficiency in ERP systems and the MS Office Suite. Known for exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, a commitment to delivering quality outcomes in fast-paced environments, and being fluent in both English and French.
