Key Account Manager

Main Responsibilities

Relationship Management

  • Manage and strengthen relationships with key customers to grow overall market share, increase share of wallet, and drive long-term customer loyalty.

  • Ensure effective communication and information flow between customers and internal stakeholders to align understanding and approach.

Account Business Planning

  • Develop, maintain, and grow key customer accounts through a structured account management process that integrates customers’ strategic requirements with Sandvik’s value propositions.

  • Create and manage a comprehensive business plan for the region, focusing on long-term growth and value co-creation between both organizations.

  • Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with major accounts to enhance brand awareness and ensure profitable partnerships.

Customer Support and Engagement

  • Provide ongoing, high-quality support to high-value clients, ensuring their needs are met effectively and promptly.

  • Possess in-depth product knowledge and a strong understanding of the client’s business to deliver tailored solutions and recommendations.

Sales and Business Development

  • Lead the direct sales process with the goal of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

  • Organize and conduct regular visits to existing and potential clients to identify business opportunities.

  • Retain and nurture long-term customer relationships with established clients.

  • Act as the main liaison between clients and internal departments to ensure smooth coordination and communication.

  • Introduce new products and services to clients and recommend suitable solutions aligned with their business needs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in key account management, sales, or business development, ideally within mining, manufacturing, or a related heavy industry.

  • Proven experience in managing strategic customer accounts, preferably in mining, manufacturing, or a related industry.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with fluency in English (spoken and written); additional SEA regional languages are a plus.

  • Willingness to travel across Southeast Asia as needed.
