Job Summary
Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for Sales Manager Rock Tools with point of hire in Balikpapan or Jakarta.
The position is responsible for driving sales performance and growth for the Rock Tools Business Line. The person in this role must develop and implement sales strategies within the assigned geographical territory or country through first-line managers. Additionally, in some markets, they may also have direct reports from operations, global accounts, business controllers, or other functions. This role combines strategic planning, team leadership, and direct customer engagement to achieve sales targets, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure alignment with business strategies and Group policies. The position also collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer service, develop talent, and maintain market competitiveness.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Strategy & Business Growth
Develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth and strengthen senior-level customer relationships aligned with the Rock Tools Division strategy.
Retain and expand existing business; identify new sales opportunities.
Make decisions aligned with business strategy, policies, and frameworks to ensure profitable control of contract sites.
Monitor competitor activities and conduct market research to maintain competitiveness.
Review and refine sales strategies based on performance results.
Customer & Market Engagement
Negotiate and close contracts, quotations, tenders, and agreements with customers.
Maintain an active presence in the field with salespeople and customers.
May hold a personal sales territory or manage distributor relationships.
Work closely with Rock Tools product, applications, and marketing teams on product selection, technical support, trials, training, and warranty.
Coordinate with EHS and Learning & Development teams on initiatives, training, policies, and customer-specific requirements.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
Lead and manage the Rock Tools sales team to achieve budgeted sales value, volume, profitability, and other performance targets.
Cascade sales goals to the team and ensure delivery of established targets.
Manage and coach First-Line Sales Managers and front-line sales staff to drive performance.
Support the sales team in protecting and growing revenue from new and existing customers.
Maintain accurate information on sales activities and performance metrics.
Identify gap and develop the Rock Tools team in line with Sandvik Competence and Development process.
Financial & Reporting Responsibilities
Provide regular business performance and metric reports to management, including forecasts, budgets, and targets.
Manage budgets and forecasts (including A&S costs).
Manage CRM.
Accountability
Ultimately accountable for meeting sales goals in the assigned geography through effective team management and customer engagement.
COLLABORATION WITH OTHER BUSINESS LINE
As the matrix organization you will be collaborating with many people within Sandvik in both global and SEA regions, including Business Line Managers and factory in Sandviken.
Direct report to Territory Manager and dotted line to BLM Rock Tools.
Other BLM related to Rock Tools business.

PREFERRED ENVIRONMENT & MOBILITY
This position is based in any environment. Located at workshops, and/or Sandvik office-based activities. Often, it includes high amount of traveling.
Surface mines, Underground mines, and construction sites such as quarries.
Travel from site to site within country and overseas business trip if necessary.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Over 10 years of experience in maintenance, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role, ideally in the mining or heavy equipment industry.
Experience in implementing CRM.
Advanced technical qualifications or certifications may be advantageous.
Intermediate English proficiency (CEFR Level C1).
