Automation Product Specialist - S4

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the product's features, benefits, and applications to effectively communicate with customers and support sales efforts.
  • Conduct thorough market research to analyze trends, identify gaps in the market, and understand user behavior. This helps in aligning the product with customer needs and expectations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and customer support, to ensure that the product meets user needs and to develop strategies for product adoption.
  • Provide training to sales and customer support teams about the product, ensuring they understand its functionalities and can effectively support customers.
  • Engage directly with customers to gather feedback, understand their needs, and address any product-related queries to improve product offerings.
  • Collect and analyze user feedback to identify areas for improvement and to inform future product development.
  • Conduct product demonstrations for customers and stakeholders to showcase features and benefits to drive sales.

Your profile

  • Grade 12 / equivalent qualification
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical trade test
  • Advantageous
  • Certificate in Facilitation and Assessment will be advantageous
  • Qualification in Software Design or Process Control
  • Relevant automation training as per Sandvik Factory Standards
  • Level 1 and Level 2 System Specialist courses (automation, auto mine lite, full remote monitoring automation systems, underground tracking experience via scanning and WLan based), sub-system training courses provided by sub-suppliers + Networking training + VCM Control System Training).
  • Exposure to underground or surface automation control system troubleshooting, maintenance, and process optimization
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols in mining environments
  • Computer literacy and proven understanding and experience with Information Technology systems and terminology
  • At least 1-year practical experience in Automation System Support at a System Technical level
  • Experience in CAN bus machine systems
  • Proven PLC experience and training
  • MS Project experience
  • MS Visio experience
  • Willingness to work on rotational schedules in remote mining locations
  • English proficiency
  • Valid driver’s license
