Business Line Manager Ground Support SA SEA

The Business Line Manager – Ground Support, Southeast Asia is responsible for leading the strategic development, commercial execution, and operational performance of the Ground Support business across the Southeast Asia Sales Area, spanning both mining and tunnelling segments. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring market leadership, sustainable growth, and customer satisfaction in line with Sandvik’s regional and global objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strengthening strategic partnerships – Deepen long-term collaboration with Freeport to defend existing market share and drive incremental growth through tailored ground support solutions, improved service levels, and proactive, data-driven planning and forecasting.
  • Expanding regional collaboration – Work closely with Mekhlopat to retain and grow Ground Support business at Oyu Tolgoi, by implementing value-differentiated strategies, including tiered service offerings, co-developed forecasting processes, and structured commercial action plans.
  • Driving business growth across Southeast Asia – Expand Ground Support’s footprint in both Mining and Tunnelling, identifying white spots and under-served markets, creating and executing growth strategies, and ensuring Sandvik remains the preferred partner through solution-oriented selling and customer intimacy.
  • Enhancing dealer performance and enablement – Build, train, and support a robust dealer network capable of delivering technical, commercial, and service excellence across target markets. Develop clear frameworks for performance monitoring, capability building, and market development.
  • Delivering customer-centric solutions – Champion the voice of the customer across the value chain by aligning product offerings, aftermarket support, and digital services with local customer needs, operational constraints, and future growth opportunities.
  • Cross-functional leadership – Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Logistics, EHS, and Service teams to ensure alignment in go-to-market execution, contract management, inventory planning, and compliance with Sandvik standards.
  • P&L Accountability – Take full responsibility for business performance, including revenue growth, profitability, cost control, and return on investment across the Ground Support portfolio in SEA.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mining, Geotechnical, or a related technical field; a master's degree in business/management is an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the mining or tunnelling industry, with at least 5 years in a commercial or business leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of ground support products, services, and their application in mining and civil infrastructure.
  • Proven track record in P&L management, sales strategy, and business development across Southeast Asia or similar emerging markets.
  • Experience in partner/channel management, especially with dealers, contractors, or service providers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders across operations, service, supply chain, and commercial functions.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to convert customer needs into profitable business solutions.
  • Familiarity with EHS standards, ISO and compliance in operational environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with fluency in English (spoken and written); additional SEA regional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel across Southeast Asia as needed.
