About the opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our service operations across workshops. In this key leadership role, you’ll ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of services that meet both customer expectations and business goals. You’ll be responsible for operational performance, financial results, team leadership, and compliance with both Sandvik standards and regulatory requirements.

This is a strategic role where you’ll apply your industry expertise and sound judgment to drive continuous improvement, promote a strong safety culture, and lead with excellence - all in alignment with Sandvik’s values and long-term vision.

This role is primarily office-based but involves regular time in the workshop and occasional travel to customer, supplier, and mine sites. You’ll work across both administrative and hands-on settings, requiring flexibility, adaptability, and compliance with site-specific safety protocols and PPE requirements.

This diverse leadership role covers:

  • Safety & Compliance: Champion a Zero Harm culture, ensuring all activities meet health, safety, quality, and regulatory standards in line with Sandvik’s EHS policies.

  • People Leadership: Recruit, coach, and develop high-performing teams, drive succession planning, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and service quality. Drive improvements in workflow, risk management, and integrated service delivery.

  • Customer Focus: Ensure outstanding service delivery and strong client relationships through technical support, training, and consistent service standards.

  • Performance & Reporting: Monitor KPIs, financial performance, and job profitability while using data-driven insights to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver aligned, high-value outcomes while upholding the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.


About you

We’re seeking a strategic leader with:

  • Extensive experience in service operations within a mining or heavy industry environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing and empowering teams.

  • Proven ability to drive operational performance, manage budgets, and ensure compliance.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Flexibility to work across administrative and hands-on environments, including travel to sites as needed.
