Service Technician – Rock Drills | Kalgoorlie WA
About the opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified local Service Technician to join the team at our busy Kalgoorlie branch. In the role you will be required to perform high quality assessments and repairs of various Sandvik Rock Drills and complete general workshop duties as required.
To be successful you will be able to demonstrate technical understanding of Sandvik equipment. You will take a productive approach to ensuring machine performance and will assist customers with their operations through increased productivity, ensuring that we further develop our customer portfolio in the area and the growth of the support team.
Roster: Monday – Friday dayshift only
Areas of responsibility
Strip, assess, repair, and rebuild hydraulic and pneumatic rock drills and associated components
Perform diagnostic evaluations and ensure equipment meets operational standards
Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures at all times
Liaise with the broader maintenance and operations teams to ensure drill performance and reliability
Conduct root cause analysis to identify and solve common problems, as a first line support.
Commissioning of products that includes quality inspections and commissioning.
Understands system functionality and interactions of hydraulics /mechanical and pneumatics systems
Maintenance and Servicing Equipment.
Plan for correct tools and parts required to perform tasks, according to work procedures.
Ensures that routine work procedures (using the tools provided), are carried out according to safety standards.
About you
Previous experience servicing underground mining equipment, particularly rock drills.
Mechanical trade qualification highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and follow standard work procedures.
High regard for safety in the workplace.
