Training Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Training Advisor to develop, implement, and deliver training programs for the maintenance of underground mining equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that maintenance personnel are equipped with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to maximize equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency.

The role is based on site in the South Gobi on a FIFO basis. The site roster assigned to the position 4 weeks/2 weeks off.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and deliver competency-based training programs for maintenance teams working with underground mining equipment (e.g., loaders, haul trucks, drills, bolters).
Develop training materials, manuals, and assessments aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct hands-on training in workshop and underground environments, ensuring employees gain practical experience.
Evaluate trainee performance through theoretical and practical assessments, providing constructive feedback.
Provide a solid framework for regular reporting on training activities and planned vs actual delivery.
Work closely with maintenance supervisors and engineers to identify training needs and address skill gaps.
Regularly review and update training materials based on equipment updates, new technologies, and operational feedback.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve maintenance training programs and enhance workforce competency.
Support apprentices and new hires in their onboarding and skill development.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor of engineering/ Technician level education.
Minimum 5 years of experience in underground mining equipment maintenance, with a strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
Experience as a trainer or mentor in a technical environment
Experience with condition monitoring systems, telematics, and digital diagnostics tools.
Exposure to underground mining environments and safety regulations
Trade certification or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Heavy Equipment Maintenance (or related field).
