About your job

The High Speed Steel Sales Manager (HSS SM) has full responsibility to manage our business in the high speed steel round tool product areas. This includes sales, channels, end users and the sales organization. The sales organization is made up of both selling agents and Dormer Pramet employees, which the HSS SM manages. The position requires collaboration and cooperation with support functions including but not limited to product and application management, inside sales, operations, logistics, production, pricing, marketing and communication. The HSS SM main goal is to drive sales growth forward to achieve our sales KPI’s.

The HSS SM must be able to fulfill all the requirements of Safety and Quality policies.

The HSS SM is a company leader and participates as a member on the Dormer Pramet Americas Management Team. (DP AMT)

Key Performance Areas

  • Be the owner of the Dormer Pramet high speed sales function acting as the face of the company to external stakeholders, channels, customers and associations.

  • Work closely with and support global PM ownership of local and global product brands.

  • Work with profitability, portfolio management, networking capital and continuous range developments.

  • Be a key contact for National Distribution Channels in US, Canada & Mexico to support the Sales and Marketing Strategy.

  • Manage major national channels including MSC, Fastenal, McMaster Carr and others as assigned.

  • Manage the Affiliated Distribution (AD) business and relationship. Identify, target and grow high speed business in new channels, new end users, new buying groups.

  • Defend market shares and maintain profitability. Develop sales execution plans to drive results.

Your Profile

  • Must possess good business skills and acumen including negotiation, planning, follow up, change management and people management

  • Must have extensive knowledge of the high speed steel sales cycle, including buyer behaviors, channel demand, competitor landscape.

  • Knowledge and experience in strategy building and maintaining long term visions and goals.

  • Must have solid understanding of high speed steel cutting tool design & applications.

  • Understanding of inside sales processes and systems, including SOPIC and SAP.

  • Understanding of price demands in the market, and be able to align local strategy to global price strategy.

  • Proven knowledge of implementing plans to deliver Corporate Business Strategy.

  • Shall be a good communicator, both in written and verbal form

  • Shall have knowledge of inter-personal relationships and skill level to use same

  • Strong overall computer skills. Proficiency in MS Office, Microsoft Power BI, CRM, Excel, PowerPoint, Word

  • Must be highly motivated with strong organizational skills

  • Must be a disciplined self-starter; with an ability to multitask

  • A minimum of five years in high level managerial position in sales management

  • A minimum of ten years’ experience working with cutting tools

  • Must have hands on experience of high speed steel round tools

  • Must display a technical understanding of high speed steel round tools

  • Must have knowledge and experience of cutting tools sales environment.

  • Experience of product training.

  • Knowledge of Sandvik Machining Solutions product management and R&D processes

  • Knowledge and understanding of main ISO processes (9001, 14001)

  • Ability to work in both metric and imperial unit system
