Product Engineer
Load & Haul Division within Mining is an industry leading global provider of loaders and trucks for the underground mining industry. We focus on technology and innovation and develop products to enable profitable and sustainable operations for our customers. The Turku site is a key product development and manufacturing center for our loading and hauling equipment.

Our Product Offering organization is seeking an active and innovative Product Engineer for our 500-600 series equipment. This permanent position is based at the Sandvik Turku site. The role offers the flexibility of hybrid work, allowing for partial remote work.
Your mission
As a Product Engineer in the offering team, you will take technical ownership and responsibility for specific underground equipment. You will lead all engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle.
Your key responsibilities include
- Ensuring that your products meet both internal and external requirements
- Making sure that engineering data is accurately maintained in databases
- Keeping the product structure and configurator data up to date
- Managing small-scale R&D projects
You will collaborate closely with the product line manager, module system owners, product safety and compliance team, assembly, sourcing, technical services, spare parts, automation team as well as other partners. Depending on your background, additional specific responsibilities may also be included in your role.
Your character
You have a relevant educational background (Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering), and several years of experience in product development tasks. We are looking for an innovative individual with a genuine passion for developing new solutions and tackling challenging tasks in constantly evolving environment. You should be organized and passionate about coordinating teamwork.
Experience with mobile equipment, diesel engines, drivetrains (electric and mechanical), electrics (LV and HV), HV batteries, hydraulics, control systems, automation, and cabins is advantageous. Additionally, knowledge in modularity, and design-to-cost principles will be beneficial. Success in this role requires initiative, an active work approach, strong interaction and teamwork skills, perseverance, and fluency in both spoken and written English.
