Application Engineer

We at Sandvik Rock Processing are the leading supplier of equipment and services for the mining and construction industry. At our Lahti site we engineer and manufacture industry leading hydraulic hammers and other hydraulic attachments for maximum productivity. We are now focusing on developing and expanding our presence in the mining industry, aiming to drive growth and innovation in this sector.

We are looking for a forward-thinking Application Engineer to join our Product Offering Team, focusing on Rock Breaker Boom Systems and Mining Solutions. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a strategic initiative that will redefine how breaker boom solutions and automation technologies are developed and deployed. This position is permanent and based in Lahti, Finland.

Your Role

As an Application Engineer, you will play a key role in tendering process in collaboration with Sandvik sales areas and product line management to find the best solutions for our mining customers. In this role you will lead technical development and support for rock breaker boom applications within mining solutions. You collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, technology development and suppliers to deliver customer-centric solutions. You translate customer needs into actionable engineering concepts and support lifecycle management. You also participate in factory and site acceptance tests.

Your Profile

We’re looking for someone with experience in mining applications, preferably with rock breaking or boom systems and familiarity with automation technologies and system integration. You have solid knowledge of mechanical design and calculation for industrial equipment, including 2D and 3D design software, e.g., Creo, AutoCAD. You have a master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, mining, automation or related field). You have strong communication and problem-solving skills and proactive mindset and ability to thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional environment. Fluency in Finnish and English language skills is needed in this role. Job requires frequent travelling, approx. 40 days per year.
