Manager, AutoMine Testing and Quality Assurance
Business Unit Automation is the home of AutoMine® - the world-leading solution for autonomous mining - and Newtrax – the world leader in collision avoidance and operations management solutions for underground mining – and Universal Field Robots UFR, a fast-growing Australia-based provider of autonomous interoperable solutions for the surface mining and underground mining markets.
Our hubs are located in Tampere (Finland), Montreal (Canada) and Brisbane (Australia) where we focus on developing fully automated and robotic mining technologies for mobile machinery, and safety solutions up to collision avoidance system (CAS) Level 9 solutions and operations management. Our overriding aim is to make mining safer and more sustainable for the future. We work closely together with our Sandvik Mining sales areas to serve our customers across the globe, striving for the highest level of service and support.
We are now looking for a systematic, experienced and result oriented manager for our team to further strengthen our commitment to excellence. You are a visionary leader who can elevate our testing practices and tools to anticipate future demands. The ideal candidate possesses not only technical expertise, but also the foresight required to guide our organization in sustaining and expanding our capabilities for developing world-leading solutions. This is a unique opportunity to shape the next chapter of innovation in mining automation, where rigorous quality assurance meets transformative progress. This is a role reporting to the Head of Product Development, AutoMine®. The position is based in Tampere, Finland at our home office in Tulli Business Park located in the city center.
Your role will focus on shaping our test automation strategy, overseeing simulator development and machine testing at our facilities, and leading factory and field acceptance tests. You will drive quality improvements throughout product development, applying modern practices and tools. Building team competence is key to success in this position.
Your Qualifications and Key Responsibilities
- You bring a strong vision for testing as a strategic function, driving process improvement and advancing test automation to elevate product quality and efficiency.
- You have demonstrated excellence in leading diverse teams and fostering an environment focused on competence development, empowering your team members to grow and achieve ambitious goals.
- You work closely with stakeholders to continuously strengthen product quality and development processes.
- You will hold ownership of product release quality, safeguarding the standards and reliability of each solution delivered to our customers.
Your Profile
You have a relevant technical education (e.g., Master of Science), and prior experience working with the specified context. We value your experience of leading teams, and automation or mobile equipment development in international business environment. You can specify, plan, and document your ideas and you have a proactive systematic and structured way of working. You have good verbal and writing skills in English.
You can establish strong professional relationships directly with relevant stakeholders and communicate with them at all levels. You understand wider business needs and find innovative solutions to complex problems. You can work proactively and systematically in a fast-changing business environment with a strong success focus. You have willingness to travel internationally.
