Your primary focus will be advancing automation in design through innovative methods and processes. Collaborate with a diverse team to streamline the creation of 3D models, drawings, and NC programs for standard and specialized tools, either automatically or through interactive processes for prototype tools.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Mentor: Guide and inspire a team of 9 skilled Design Automation professionals, CAD and CAM experts within the Walter PLM organization.

  • Project Oversight: Assess costs, resources, and timelines for new designs, design documents, and work processes. Oversee development projects, ensuring they meet their targets.

  • People Development: Prioritize the development of individuals to uphold the high standards of our design automation. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and skill enhancement.

  • Process Implementation: Play a pivotal role in successfully implementing new processes and methods. Provide guidance and conduct training sessions for users across various locations.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product Development and Product Management to ensure alignment with product development project plans.

  • Product Configurator Management: Provide, maintain, and keep up-to-date a product configurator for special tools in the indexable area.

  • Process Enhancement: Continuously improve processes to enhance the efficiency of tool design, calculation, and construction.

  • Project Definition and Management: Define and manage projects within your team and across teams. Encourage and empower team members to actively participate in projects.

Your skills:

  • Educational Background: Hold a BSc or MSc degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical or industrial engineering, though similar fields will also be considered.

  • Work Habits: Demonstrate proactive and systematic work habits with an analytical mindset.

  • Leadership Experience: Have experience leading teams with a genuine passion for developing individuals and teams.

  • Communication Skills: Exhibit exceptional communication skills and a deep understanding of multicultural dynamics.

  • Language Proficiency: Proficient in English (both verbal and written), with desirable German language skills.

  • Technical Skills: Experience in 3D modeling and design automation, preferably with Siemens NX, is desirable. Experience in CAM programming and simulation are beneficial.

  • Team Collaboration: Embrace an active role within the Product Information Management team, contributing to its overall success.

  • Innovative Thinking: Maintain an open-minded, forward-thinking approach, continuously seeking innovative solutions.

  • Drive and Determination: Show exceptional drive and determination in setting and achieving targets, delivering results.
