Quality Assurance and Development Manager

Surface Drilling Division within Sandvik Mining is a world leading supplier of surface mining and construction equipment and related services. We are now looking for an active and engaging Quality Assurance and Development Manager to join our division. This key position is full-time, permanent position and based in Tampere, Finland.

About your role

As Quality Assurance and Development Manager, you are responsible for supply chain quality assurance processes and their ongoing enhancement, including supplier quality performance and development. The role involves owning and optimizing processes within supplier base and production to minimize disruptions and ensure defect-free end products. You will use customer feedback to drive internal quality improvements, oversee quality reporting and KPIs, handle supplier claim follow-up, and lead agreed audits for suppliers and internal teams. The position includes occasional travel to suppliers and has an active role in fostering and developing a strong quality culture.

About your key responsibilities

  • Develop Supply Chain quality processes including supplier development and production quality. You provide support and direction to supply chain quality, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. This position is a manager role.
  • Participate in Continuous Product Improvement Process (CPIP) and lead agreed CPIP cases to ensure efficient resolution of customer issues and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Quality reporting and KPIs to provide a comprehensive view of divisional quality and customer quality experience.
  • Lead agreed supplier and internal audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Strengthen the division's quality culture, promoting best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

About your background and what we find important

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Proven experience of leading change and an ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
  • Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement initiatives in a supply chain or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of ISO-9001 standards and certification processes as well as root cause analysing technigues
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and a systematic way of working
  • Experience with customer issue resolution and improving customer engagement and satisfaction through quality improvements
  • Suitable educational background; Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field
  • Ability to work fluently in English and in Finnish
  • Experience in welding or hydraulics quality assurance and control is seen as an advantage
