Job Summary:

Work in the development, preservation, and implementation of the Sandvik Coromant Westminster Site’s quality system and in conjunction with other relevant parties, and/or any other external parties, ensuring approved quality guidelines and standard results are achieved. Provide technical assistance to all production and support functions to enable the continuous improvement cycle for the products and processes. Develop statistical tools, and when necessary, enhance the current ones, so analysis of the information collected is relevant and meaningful to the organization.

Job Task and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the maintenance and data integrity of Quality databases and systems used within the scope of the company.
  • Prepares Quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, making recommendations.
  • Distribute Quality information within the organization and shares at a global level to establish a benchmarking process with the other production units in the group.
  • Issues and maintains Quality related documentation in the Business Management System.
  • Maintain site wide administration of QMS system.
  • Collaborate, and when necessary, lead Root Cause Analysis investigation for major or repetitive quality defects.
  • Monitor effectiveness of quality policies and procedures.
  • Participate in activities related to the improvement of rejection, customer complaints and spot check scores, productivity (pieces/man-hour), etc.
  • Introduce new technology and/or software applied to measuring methods and equipment (e.g. vision systems) to improve the inspection processes for specials, and when possible adequate, standard products.
  • Participates in the Internal Audit team for the Business Management System.
  • Support in the monitoring of the quality of products outsourced.
  • Establish when needed Quality Improvement programs for suppliers, along with ensuring compliance with the ISO Standards Quality, Safety and Environmental Systems ISO 90001, 14001 and 45001.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Knowledgeable of Quality systems and manufacturing principles.
  • Proficient in use of PC, including Windows/Office applications.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Systematic, logical, and inventive approach to problem solving, while maintaining agreed deadlines.
  • BA/BSc in Quality Management, Quality Systems, Quality Assurance, Mechanical.
