Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions (SMR) is a leading supplier in equipment and tools, services and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries. Our application areas include rock drilling, rock cutting, crushing, and screening, loading, and hauling, tunnelling, quarrying, and breaking and demolition. To our Rock Tools division and the Production Unit in Patancheru, we are now looking for a Civil Engineer to join us.

Your scope:

The Civil Engineer is a pivotal role in the plant, providing right technical expertise for the Building Maintenance and civil projects asper the NBC standard, continuous improvement, & Drive excellence in project execution, focusing on civil engineering projects. Additionally, oversee building civil maintenance activities. Contribute to the seamless operation and longevity of structures, aligning with organizational standards and objectives.

To be more specific, your main responsibilities to handle in this position are:

  • Facility Maintenance & Repairs: Oversee the upkeep of various civil infrastructure elements, including walls, flooring, ceilings, doors, windows, plumbing systems, and stormwater drains, addressing any issues related to rainwater leakage, roads, and paver pathways.
  • Infrastructure Inspection & Management: Inspect and maintain structural features like ACP facades, false ceilings, puff panels, rolling shutters, and sanitary installations, ensuring proper functionality and addressing any infrastructure defects.
  • Asset Management & Documentation: Utilize Civil check sheets for asset tracking and maintenance of fireproof doors, glazed windows, gypsum board ceilings, PU & epoxy floors, and RCC structures, ensuring the maintenance of as-built drawings.
  • Work Scheduling & Permit Management: Develop and implement work schedules for defect rectification, and ensure the proper issuance of work permits, shutdown plans, and 5S markings for civil maintenance activities.
  • Inventory & Material Management: Manage inventory for maintenance materials, including aggregates, cement, paints, and other consumables, ensuring they are stocked and correctly coded for use.
  • Critical Infrastructure & System Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of critical systems, including rainwater trenches, rolling shutters (high-speed and low-speed doors), and plumbing systems such as urinals, wash basins, and W/Cs, addressing issues promptly and effectively.
  • Design & Estimation: Develop detailed plans and layouts using AutoCAD for proposed designs and perform cost estimations to assess the project scope and budget requirements.
  • Vendor & Quality Management: Evaluate vendors to ensure compliance with company standards and establish and maintain quality assurance practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk & Safety Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure safety standards are consistently met during project execution.
  • Work Planning & Change Control: Organize and lead effective work planning meetings to ensure on-time project delivery and implement change control processes to manage modifications during project phases.
  • Construction Oversight: Supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations while resolving any technical issues that arise.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Collaborate with global engineering teams, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to maintain seamless communication and comprehensive project documentation.
  • Facility & Technical Support: Lead facility management initiatives in alignment with Sandvik standards and provide technical support for civil design and construction to address any challenges.

Your profile:

Our candidate should have 8 years of experience in civil project management and building maintenance, particularly in process / engineering environments. Additionally, certifications in building design, project management. Engineering drawing Applications like Auto CAD.

A Graduate Engineer within civil education is required. You have previously worked with strong EHS cultured organizations, and you understand the importance of a diverse workforce and collaborative settings
