Your performance areas:

The Project Manager, Batteries position is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and development of battery electric vehicle engineering equipment development projects from proposal to delivery. Provides technical engineering leadership for the development of electric and hybrid automobile technology used in heavy-duty mining equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Apply technical knowledge of vehicle equipment engineering and project management to guide the development team to define the functional specifications and provide a roadmap for manufacturing integration programs for electric vehicle engineering equipment.
  • Ensure technical accuracy of designs and the use of sound engineering development methods.
  • Develop project scopes and objectives and ensure technical engineering feasibility of designs.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external resources for the engineering design and manufacturing of electric and hybrid technology for mobile underground mining.
  • Facilitate collaboration across engineering managers, design managers, marketing managers, and executives to meet cost, schedule, and quality goals.
  • Execute and maintain Agile project management processes for electrical and electronic heavy equipment development and engineering projects.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation for technical engineering needs for product development, and manufacturing.
  • Drive engineering teams towards containment and resolution of issues raised from design reviews, virtual builds, and build events to protect the program's schedule, ensuring prototype build dates, start of production, and production objectives are met.
  • Monitor work outputs and deliverables for Battery system projects and vehicle integration.
  • Maintain supplier relationships in collaboration with Supply Chain team to ensure the timely deliveries for prototype builds and build events.
  • Develop and implement a detailed engineering project plan to track the progress of ongoing development projects.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in projects scope, schedules, and costs.
  • Evaluate and report cost, schedule and progress of the engineering, procurement, prototype manufacturing and testing.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks and ensure sustainability of engineering operations.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive engineering project documentation detailing project scope, cost, progress and deliverables.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and three (3) years of experience as Product Manager, Project Manager or Manager in the vehicle manufacturing industry. Alternatively, we will accept a Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and two (2) years of experience as Product Manager, Project Manager or Manager in the vehicle manufacturing industry.
  • The required three (3) years of experience with Bachelor’s, or two (2) years of experience with Master’s, must have included managing the timely launch of new vehicle products to market, including vehicle product development and testing; ensuring timely project execution and delivery from initiation to completion; defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables; and managing project plans, timelines and budgets. May telecommute from home within the Camarillo, CA metropolitan statistical area (MSA ) up to two days per week.

Salary: $ 150,000.00 - $156,000.00/year
