Senior Maintenance Planner (Kibali site)

Sandvik Mining and Construction DRC is a Sales Unit based in Lubumbashi, within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, a Business Area, a leading supplier of equipment and tools, service and support for the mining industry. Your mission

Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all Sandvik equipment and facilities with the Customer’s team.

  • Analyse and Improve Customer job plans and Maintenance schedules, including labour, materials, tools, and safety requirements.

  • Coordinate with Customer production and maintenance teams to minimise disruption during maintenance activities.

  • Assist the Customer in compiling parts lists for all specific planned tasks.

  • Ensure the Customer processes the Ordering of planned work parts to meet scheduled deadlines.

  • Continuous quarterly evaluation and adjustment of Sandvik Stockholding to align with Sandvik machine models used on site, as well as the maintenance strategy.

Work Order Management

  • Review and prioritise incoming work requests.

  • Create and issue work orders with clear instructions and required resources.

  • Track work order progress and close completed tasks

Resource Coordination

  • Ensure the availability of spare parts and materials before scheduled maintenance.

  • Liaise with vendors for specialised services or parts procurement.

  • Develop/Analyse/Improve BOM’s for all planned tasks

Data & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, costs, and equipment history.

  • Generate reports on a weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Basis on maintenance activities and planned work KPI’s.

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyse maintenance trends and recommend improvements to reduce breakdowns.

  • Support reliability initiatives and root cause analysis for recurring issues.

  • Ensure Customer teams are updated on all Safety and Upgrade Bulletins sent out by Sandvik

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and company policies.

  • Prepare risk assessments and job safety analyses for planned work.

Your Profile

You are a qualified Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with over 5 years of maintenance planning experience, including Sandvik equipment expertise. Skilled in CMMS, preventive maintenance strategies, and Microsoft Office, with strong organisational, communication, and analytical abilities to support efficient operations.
