Product Specialist, Rock Drills

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is the leading provider of equipment and tools as well as maintenance and technical services for the mining industry. The Tampere plant is a global technology and manufacturing center for drill rigs.

If you are a development oriented professional with great collaboration skills you might be the right person to join our Rock Drills team. Due to the retirement of one product specialist and expanding product offering, we are now looking for a proactive and service oriented Product Specialist, to take over an important role in a Rock Drill technical support. This is a full-time, permanent position and based in Tampere, Finland.

Your mission

As a Product Specialist, Rock Drills you will provide training and technical support of Sandvik's top hammer rock drills and rotary heads. You will work in close co-operation with Surface Drills, Underground Drills equipment support teams and Parts and Services organization as well as Sales Areas to help them to support their customers. You will develop rock drills and rotation heads related technical competence within SMR in co-operation with equipment and P&S organizations. Your main responsibilities are:

Support the commissioning of Rock Drills, Rock Pulse digital products & Rotation Heads in the field.
Operate the internal help desk to answer queries from Sales Areas product masters/product specialists on technical issues.
Troubleshoot to resolve complex product issues in cases where the Sales Areas can't manage to solve the problem by themselves.
Act as a link between customers, product management and engineering to enable development in Rock Drills and related services.
Provide input into the warranty and product safety analysis and documentation.
Actively support and participate to the customer site testing of new rock drill models.

Your background

You have a suitable technical background with several years of experience in a service work with focus on Rock Drills & Rotation Heads and preferably working with Sandvik’s drill rigs. You are experienced technical trainer as well as producing training materials. You have good knowledge and skills in mechanics and technology as well as in rock drilling applications, methods and products.

You have good presentation, cooperation and negotiation skills. You are capable of showing initiative, tolerance to stress and pressure and standing up for your own opinions. Outstanding customer focus and support attitude, good English skills and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work efficiently, prioritize, and keep deadlines are also essential. Our ideal candidate is an excellent team player who enjoys working with customers in an international and dynamic environment.

Willingness to travel and capability to work alone without immediate support from the factory as well as providing hands on technical support are required in this position.
