What You Will Do
As an Industrial Painter, you will be responsible for preparing, painting, and detailing rotary drilling rigs and components to meet Sandvik’s high quality and appearance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare rig frames, structures, and components for paint through sanding, cleaning, masking, and surface conditioning
Apply primers, topcoats, and specialty coatings using spray equipment (including air-assisted or similar systems)
Apply marketing and basic decals to machines
Mix paints and coatings to specification, ensuring correct color, viscosity, and finish quality
Perform touch‑ups, detailing, and cosmetic corrections to deliver a professional, high-quality appearance
Inspect work before, during, and after application to ensure specifications and quality standards are met
Safely operate and maintain painting tools and equipment, including sanders, spray guns, pumps, and hoses
Coordinate with supervision and quality inspection to complete required documentation and sign‑offs
Identify and resolve paint-related issues, escalating when needed to ensure quality outcomes
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Support continuous improvement and demonstrate commitment to Sandvik’s Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
What You Bring
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 1 year of experience in industrial, manufacturing, automotive, or heavy equipment painting
Authorized to work in the U.S. on an indefinite basis without sponsorship
Experience working in spray booths and wearing respirators/PPE
Familiarity with primers, corrosion‑resistant coatings, or industrial paint specifications
Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
Prior experience with decal installation preferred
Must be able to pass a company-required non-DOT physical examination
Physical & Work Environment
Highly active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reaching throughout the shift
Frequent lifting and moving of items over 50 lbs. (hoists used when applicable)
Manufacturing environment with loud noise, dust, and temperature variation
Required use of PPE including respirators, hearing protection, and protective clothing
