Key Performance Areas:
The Warranty Specialist is responsible for driving continuous improvement in warranty processes, systems, and performance across Sandvik’s U.S. operations. This role ensures that warranty data is accurately captured, analyzed, and used to inform product reliability improvements, cost reduction strategies, and customer satisfaction initiatives.
In addition to process leadership, this role is instrumental in the development and implementation of comprehensive warranty training programs for both internal teams and external customers. The Lead provides ongoing support to ensure accurate and efficient warranty processing, including claim submission, validation, and resolution. They serve as a key point of contact for both internal stakeholders and external partners, helping to identify and resolve warranty-related issues, and ensuring alignment with Sandvik’s global standards and customer expectations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Warranty Process Leadership
- Develop and implement standardized warranty processes across business units.
- Ensure compliance with global warranty policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local sales area policies and procedures
- Lead cross-functional teams to resolve systemic warranty issues and drive root cause analysis.
Training & Enablement
- Design and deliver warranty training programs for internal departments (e.g., service, sales, quality) and external customers or dealers.
- Create training materials, guides, and digital resources to support warranty education.
- Conduct onboarding and refresher sessions to ensure consistent understanding of warranty procedures.
Customer & Stakeholder Support
- Provide direct support to internal teams and external customers in warranty claim processing, documentation, and issue resolution.
- Act as a subject matter expert for warranty-related inquiries and escalations.
- Collaborate with customer service, field service, and product support teams to ensure a seamless warranty experience.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze warranty claims data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Report on key warranty metrics (e.g., cost per unit, failure rates, turnaround time).
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to feed insights into product development and reliability improvements.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive initiatives to reduce warranty costs and improve product reliability.
- Facilitate workshops focused on warranty and quality improvement.
- Benchmark best practices and implement innovative solutions across the organization.
EXPERIENCE
5+ years of experience in warranty, quality, or reliability engineering roles.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, Business, or related field
COMPETENCIES
- Proven experience in training development and delivery.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data visualization and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.
- Experience in mining, manufacturing, or heavy equipment industries preferred.
