We are looking for a hardworking and multi-skilled individual to join our team as a Fettler.
The role will report into the Fabrication Manager. The role will be based from our offices in Spartan, Kempton Park.
Purpose of the role:
- To operate grinding equipment and grind steel components according to instructions.
The job responsibilities:
- Responsible to operate grinding tools and see that they are well maintained.
- Responsible to remove excess material, spatter or burrs from surfaces, round sharp edges to prepare them for welding or fitting.
- Responsible to use the correct size grinding or cutting disk.
- Responsible to flapper grind.
- Responsible to maintain good housekeeping in your work areas on a continuous basis.
- Responsible to operate within the health and safety requirements prescribed by Kwatani and OHSAct and report any accident, injury or near miss that could have resulted in an accident to your foreman.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
- Grade 12 /Matric Certificate or equivalent
- 3 - 5 years' fettling/grinding experience obtained in a metal industry operations.
- A valid crane operating license will be an added advantage

- Basic Knowledge of welding.
- Ability to read and write and interpret instructions correctly.
- Good understanding of how parts are made.
- Ability to read and understand instructions from Boilermaker.
- Ability to operate an overhead crane.
