TMM Maintenance Manager

To manage the maintenance of equipment according to OEM specifications and standards, and ensure preventative & continuous maintenance of equipment, cost effectiveness, effective subordinates and customer relations.

This service is rendered to Sandvik Mining clients (internal and external) according to performance requirements & specifications to ensure continuous improvement and growth.

Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for managing the maintenance of equipment according to OEM specifications and. The various duties are, among other things:

  • Plan and enforce maintenance schedule

  • Ensure feedback and works order to customer

  • Effective Operations through identifying causes of damage, preventative maintenance, response to breakdowns and diagnosing corrective measures and report

  • Oversee fault finding & spares required

  • Oversee equipment testing & coach where needed

  • Record and oversee equipment performances and conditions

  • Report trends and deviations per machine

  • Oversee shift control according to maintenance plan

  • Provide basic training for machine operators re small breakdowns

  • Responsible for the competence development and staffing within the department.

  • Ensure compliance with all employment, health and safety laws.

Profile Required

  • Grade 12 / N3 Technical qualification / Equivalent Qualification

  • Relevant trade certificate

  • Relevant Trade theory

  • Certificate and or diploma in business management (advantageous)

  • Maintenance experience (5 years)

  • Supervisory experience (5 years)

  • English proficiency

  • Experience in inventory control

  • Trackless mining experience (advantageous)

  • Full physical & medical certificate to work in mining environment
