Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Production Engineer to oversee and optimize our manufacturing operations in HSS threading tool’s Blanks production. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily production activities, supervising a team of machine operators of production shop consisting of CNC turning, grinding machines as well as vacuum heat treatment furnaces, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Supervision: Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of production operators to ensure smooth and efficient operations on the shop floor. Monitoring and quality control of vacuum heat treatment furnaces (e.g., vacuum hardening, tempering, annealing).
Production Planning: Develop and execute daily and weekly production schedules in coordination with production planning and stock control.
Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and implement people and process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime by using lean tools such as SMED, OEE etc.
Quality Assurance: Monitor production output to ensure compliance with quality standards and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
Performance management & people Development: Train operators on standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety practices, and equipment handling. Set goals and manage performance of team members through feedback and effective communication.
Maintenance Coordination: Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure timely servicing and minimal breakdowns of machinery.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
Reporting: Maintain accurate production records and generate daily/weekly reports on performance, efficiency, and issues.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Metallurgical, Production or Industrial Engineering.
3 to 5 years of experience in a handling production dept/ Heat Treatment
Proven experience in supervising shop floor teams and managing shift operations.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and quality systems
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and production management software (e.g., ERP systems).
Knowledge of ISO 9000 QMS and EHS system and its documentation.
Ability to work with cross functional team of stake holders to deliver on KPIs.
