Operations Field Support – Olympic Dam | South Australia
About the opportunity
We are seeking motivated, and customer focused individuals for the role of Operations Field Support. The role is based at our client mine site and will see you engaged in direct customer service and Rock tools (ROTO). Our team will provide you with comprehensive training to set you up to succeed. This presents you the opportunity to learn and apply Sandvik specific knowledge and services in support of mining customers. In turn, potential career opportunities include promotion to higher operations levels, or career paths to other roles such as sales, service, supervisory or management positions.
The role is based at our client’s site, Olympic Dam Mine, and will be a residential role based at Roxby Downs, possible DIDO entertained but unfortunately no FIFO.
Roster: Day shift only, 6am to 6pm on a 7 days on 7 days off roster.
Responsibilities
- Managing drilling consumables inventories to drill sites
- Undertaking daily deliveries and stock replenishment to sites (Underground and Surface)
- Undertaking deliveries and stock replenishment to site surface lay down yards and underground
- Analysing and reporting on drilling consumable performance, condition, and failures
- Positively engaging with our client’s mining operators
- Administration of Products Usage and Contract Requirements
- EHS Requirements
- Repairs and reconditioning of hammers
- Timely data entry and record keeping
About you
You will preferably have experience working underground around heavy equipment and hold current inductions. You must have a strong safety commitment as well as excellent customer service and communication skills. Knowledge of on-site service contracts, underground mining, and familiarity with Sandvik drilling products would also be favourable.
You will have aptitude for learning and the ability to engage in labour intensive work; you have receptiveness to training and guidance; safety behaviours; and effective communication and collaboration skills. These will be the foundation of your progression to the ROTO activities you will be required to perform.
This role will also require you to safely lift a minimum of 40kgs, so physical fitness is a must.
