Development & Test Technician
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in the assembly of prototypes or test equipment according to engineering specifications.
Work with engineers to refine designs and address issues.
Collaborate with engineering teams to understand testing requirements and specifications.
Set up and configure test environments, ensuring accuracy and reliability of tests.
Conduct functional and performance testing using a variety of testing equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the lab, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Perform routine maintenance on testing equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
Organize and maintain tool and test equipment in the lab and prototyping area.
Create and maintain detailed records of tests, results, and any deviations from expected outcomes.
Document the prototyping process, including tools, materials used, assembly procedures, modifications, and any deviations.
Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, identify improvements, and optimize assembly or testing processes.
Provide feedback on performance and suggest enhancements.
Manage inventory of testing equipment and components, ensuring availability and proper calibration.
Assist in the procurement of new equipment and tools as needed.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines in all lab and test activities.
Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance among team members.
Work with manufacturing to implement new designs into production, support training of staff.
Provide frequent progress updates to direct manager as needed.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum six (6+) years of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly required.
Exposure to electrical systems, routing, terminating, and diagnosing beneficial.
Prior experience with engineering change processes and product improvement.
Practical application and understanding of proper rigging and lifting techniques.
Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical assembly principles.
Familiarity with reading CAD drawings, wiring diagrams, and other engineering documentation.
Familiarity with using DMMs, isolation meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with ability to think outside the box.
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Bills of Materials.
Hands-on experience with high voltage batteries beneficial.
IPC, SAE, or similar technical training is a plus.
Experience with the use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related Microsoft Office software
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two-year certification from a college or trade school is beneficial.
Courses or work experience with a focus in the related field.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
PAY RANGE
$25.00 - $31.00 Hourly
