Global Account Manager (m/f/d) – location flexible within USA

The Walter Global Account Manager is acting in a global key role to manage the sales business for the most important Walter global playing customers (mainly in the USA) in interaction with the local organized Walter sales companies. Within this position you drive the operative sales business in each country with production units of the global accounts. You’re a team player, who lives and promotes a culture of continuous improvement, innovative solutions, safety, and you thrive under pressure. Your mission:

  • One part of your job is to put in place a mid-term development strategy for respective Global Account and ensure the execution of it by all stakeholders involved

  • You identify new trends in the global accounts to put Walter into the position of doing the new business first

  • Also real global decision-makers and the decision-making process of the global accounts are identified by you

  • You are responsible to strengthen the relationship to the mid- and top Management level of the global accounts

  • You will negotiate global sales and pricing contracts considering the customer’s needs and the Walter targets

  • You will manage the global contract execution within the Walter organization and are in close contact to the Global accounts

  • You will establish and professionalize a value-creating global sales team, coordinate and activate team networking, structure an efficient global sales team communication for an improved information standard

  • Another part of your job will be to mobilize internal resources to maximize cost savings for the global accounts

  • You proactively measure and manage the business performance development on the global accounts, highlight success stories, identify weaknesses in the global sales process and find solutions for a sustainable sales growth

  • You recognize the most important change projects of the global accounts and understand the changed demands for the partnership to Walter and manage the necessary changes within Walter to support the Walter customer focus

  • You are aware about the major investments in new machine tools at the global accounts and you ensure that such information are shared with the internal stakeholders

Your profile:

  • You have an university degree in mechanical engineering or business administration or economic engineering or an advanced technical degree or comparable education

  • You have an understanding of the customer’s production and cutting processes and are aware of the major technology trends within the metal cutting industry

  • Several years of experience in Key Account sales with industrial cutting tools and with international customers are the key to your success

  • We’re looking for someone with strategic thinking and strong project management, networking and communication skills and the willingness to travel

  • You have several years of experience in steering international Teams as well as intercultural competencies are also part of your profile

  • You have skills in establishing and maintaining healthy working relations and partnerships with key stakeholders

  • With a good level of english skills you can easily inspire others with your visions and ideas
