The role

Due to expansion, we are currently looking for a Battery as a Service Support Specialist – Electrician (BAAS). You will be responsible for the site-based day to day management of the Battery as a Service function for the Sandvik Battery Electric Vehicle’s (BEV). This role will also be responsible for the provision of technical support for the customers technicians and electricians, relating BEV, the collection and reporting of all associated data and issues related to the battery, the battery charging system, equipment and the parts usage.

This role is based in Bendigo, VIC and will operate on an 8 days on 6 days off roster. There is the potential of this role transitioning to a FIFO role after the initial 12 months.

Areas of responsibility

  • Collect and store relevant data from the batteries, the charging system, equipment and the parts usage as required
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to resolve issues with 1000v and 24v electrical systems on the Sandvik Battery Electric and Battery Hybrid Electric range of equipment and their ancillary products.
  • Provide technical advice to the service network on proper operation, maintenance and troubleshooting practices
  • Aid in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims and engineering machine improvements
  • Review parts requirements to support the BEV and provide recommendations to the responsible parts representative
  • Oversee the required site-based consignment stock processes, to ensure that the customer accurately books parts out of the store and that stock counts and balances are processed at least monthly
  • Work with the customer to ensure that parts are booked out to the equipment that the parts were used on, to ensure part usage data integrity
  • Investigate warranty claims proactively and reactively to enhance customer satisfaction and provide feedback to the Warranty Analyst

Your profile

  • Relevant Trade Qualification in Electrical
  • Certificate IV in training and assessing is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills, particularly in relation to dealing with customers.
  • Demonstrated Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure, respond quickly to requests and achieve effective results within given times.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in response to organisational and operational change.
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team.
  • Ability to work independently
