Job Description:

As the Business Unit Controller, you are part of the Business Unit Management team and business partner for Business Unit Management, supporting decision making based on timely financial information, business cases, simulation, and planning. You will be responsible for coordinating BU BHEV (Battery Hybrid Electric Vehicles) financial and accounting records and reports inside the business unit, inside production units and with other stakeholders like sales areas.

The Business Unit Controller is responsible to establish the right set of internal controls to mitigate risks, enhance the accuracy of the business unit’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with IFRS, Sandvik financial policies, and any other local standards relevant for BHEV entities. You report directly to the Vice-president, BU BHEV, and have a functional reporting (dotted line) to Director Business Control, Load & Haul Division (Turku, Finland).

Education Level:

  • Master’s degree (M.A. / M.Sc.) and/or combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge and experience in IFRS and general accounting principles

Job Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role with oversight of full P&L in an international environment

  • Technical and functional skills in financial controlling

  • Proven understanding in Internal Control systems

  • Member of the BHEV Management team, and advises the BHEV Management team, and other key members of senior management, on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters

  • Manages overall financial reporting and forecasting process of all BHEV entities for the Business unit (review, consolidation, reporting requirements, etc.)

  • Leads the business planning and business simulations of BHEV, drives business decisions

  • Supports governance models for BHEV operations (Sales Area/Divisions/BU governance)

  • Supports Business Development team with BHEV contracts, offering models both for business projections and follow up for its accounting (trial contracts, long term investment contracts, etc.)

  • Provides follow-up, analysis and clear explanations and comments regarding actual results, forecasts and targets

  • Managed performance management process, including KPI development and implementation

  • Support profitability analysis and identify profitability improvement opportunities and initiatives

  • Driver of improvements in cost accounting, data management, reporting, forecasting accuracy

  • On time reporting of actual and forecast results

  • Ensure compliance with Sandvik reporting policies and procedures

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work well with employees in various departments and cross-border, accommodating for different time zone collaborations

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills in a team environment

  • Must be a motivated self-starter with ability to prioritize workload and manage deadlines with little supervision

  • Moderate travel is required
