Pennsylvania Extruded Tube Company (PEXCO), in Clarks Summit, PA is seeking an Automation Engineer

Pennsylvania Extruded Tube Company (PEXCO), a leading producer of seamless stainless tube products in Clarks Summit, PA, is seeking a Automation Engineer for its manufacturing facility. This company, created as a joint venture between Sandvik and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metals was built on a firm foundation of teamwork and employee interaction.

Key Performance Areas:

Automation Controls Engineer with strong knowledge of Siemens Industrial Controllers, VFDs, Motor Starters, PLC Programming, and various Automation Controls.

Requirements:

At least 3 years’ experience with the following:

- Knowledge and experience using Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal Programming. Siemens Sinamics Servo Drives and VFD’s.

- Industrial Controllers, Industrial Electronics, strong experience working with VFDs, PLCs, Motor Starters, Automation Controls, and panel building wiring.
- Performing system upgrades and installations in the manufacturing environment.

- Able to troubleshoot both programming and electrical problems with manufacturing equipment. This includes working with Industrial voltages from 120 VAC single phase to 480 VAC 3 phase.

- Experience working in Electrical cabinets with High voltage potential.

Experience or knowledge of the following a Plus:

  • Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and integration of machine controls.

  • Working with Mechanical Applications and their relationships to automation equipment.

  • Must be confident and a team oriented person willing to work in a team environment with Engineers, Technicians, Operators and Managers. Must have good organization and project management skills.

Education:

  • BS / BA or equivalent education or experience in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, plus 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing/ Industrial environments Development, design, test and validation of Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal hardware and software automation solution.

  • Testing of automation solution in virtual and physical environment.

  • Define and participate in the implementation of automation projects in production, material handling, assembly and product development.

  • Documentation of solutions according to specification and standards.

  • Participate in the procurement and acquisition of equipment and services needed during design, test and implementation of automation solutions.

  • Monitor technological developments in order to optimally develop automation equipment, processes.
