IT Strategy & Enterprise Architecture Lead

Do you thrive at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and business value? Step into a role where you shape the digital direction of Mining and ensure that strategy, enterprise architecture, and major initiatives are seamlessly aligned to drive lasting business value.

Why Sandvik?
We’re building a stronger digital foundation – and this is your chance to influence it from the core. Here, you get to:

  • Influence high‑level decisions that shape our digital capabilities.
  • Operate close to senior leadership, advising on strategic and architectural choices.
  • Connect enterprise‑wide ambitions with concrete architectural outcomes.

About the job

You lead and define our digital IT strategy for Mining, setting the direction for how technology drives business performance and long-term competitiveness. You ensure that strategy is translated into clear priorities and consistently reflected in major initiatives. To enable this, you direct the central enterprise architecture team and the federated EA practice across Digital Business Capabilities (DBC), acting as the integrator between strategic ambition and architectural intent.

Job responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate DBC strategy development with the CDO, DBC management, and the CDO Office.
  • Define strategic priorities, focus areas, and success criteria for digital IT across Mining.
  • Translate strategy into clear direction for major initiatives, ensuring consistency and focus in execution.
  • Act as a senior advisor to the CDO and CDO Office Director on digital, technology, and transformation-related decisions.
  • Drive alignment across divisions and initiatives, resolving cross-domain trade-offs at enterprise level.
  • Direct enterprise architecture to support strategy execution, including principles, guardrails, and target states.
  • Oversee, anchor and communicate architecture strategies as instruments for delivering strategic outcomes and long-term architecture qualities.

Location and flexibility
This role is flexible between Sweden, Finland and Ireland.

Your profile

With extensive experience in senior leadership roles within IT strategy, enterprise architecture and transformation, you bring proven expertise at the enterprise scale. Your track record demonstrates clear analytical strength and the ability to shape strategic ambition into actionable architectural direction. You have successfully defined enterprise architecture priorities and led teams toward long-term coherence. Your background also includes:

  • Extensive experience guiding enterprise architecture and IT strategy across complex, federated, and politically layered organizations.
  • Trusted advisor to senior executives, providing clear direction on architectural and strategic decisions.
  • Skilled in structuring and resolving enterprise-level trade-offs with integrity and an enterprise mindset.
  • Leadership in setting and driving enterprise architecture direction; experience leading EA teams is a strong advantage.

Curiosity, integrity, and a long‑term perspective guide the way you work. You move easily between strategic thinking and practical direction‑setting, and you collaborate naturally with stakeholders at all levels.
