AI Engineer

Are you passionate about shaping the future with cutting-edge AI solutions? At Sandvik Coromant, we’re building the next generation of intelligent tools and systems that transform how we work.

At our AI Center of Enablement, we’re looking for an AI Engineer – a key role in developing scalable generative AI applications and machine learning models that drive innovation and create tangible business value. This is your chance to work with the latest technologies, while making a meaningful impact across our organization.

Shortly about us

Our mission is to democratize data, analytics, AI, and automation—empowering teams through self-service tools, data literacy, and smart solutions. We’re pragmatic, collaborative, and driven by a strong engineering spirit and commitment to teamwork. If you’re passionate about innovation and want to make a lasting impact, this is the place for you!

Your mission

In this position, you’re responsible for designing, building and scaling GenAI applications such as chatbots, assistants, leveraging RAG pipelines and integrating them with enterprise data. You collaborate with product owners, data engineers, and domain experts to identify opportunities and transform them into scalable, production-ready AI solutions.

Also included in your responsibilities:

  • Translate complex problems into AI/ML approaches and evaluate the most effective methods.
  • Deploy and monitor models in production environments to ensure they run reliably and at scale, while maintaining stability, scalability, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, AI Architect and Analysts to define requirements and measure outcomes.
  • Contribute to our AI Champion Community by sharing best practices and supporting colleagues.

This role is based in Stockholm or Sandviken, with a hybrid work solution.

Your profile

We’re looking for someone with a few years of hands-on experience in data science or machine learning engineering, with a foundation in applied statistics and analytics. Your technical expertise includes working with LLMs, RAG pipelines, embeddings, and vector databases. You’re comfortable designing experiments, validating results, and deploying models in cloud environments—preferably Azure and Databricks. An academic background in computer science, statistics, or a related field is expected, along with experience working with enterprise data from areas like sales, finance, R&D, or manufacturing.

You’re curious, proactive, and thrive in a dynamic and experimental environment. You enjoy the challenge of turning innovative ideas into scalable solutions and taking ownership of your work. You’re a collaborative team player who values continuous learning and knowledge sharing – contributing to a supportive and innovative culture.
