Job Description:
· The Software Developer I works in a constantly evolving, Agile environment, contributing to solution-sets that solve the world's manufacturing challenges. This role pro-actively works with tenured team members to create and maintain software components and as well as to apply state-of-the-art development practices and technologies to resolve development challenges in our large codebases.
Key Responsibilities
Development
· Assist in designing, developing, and testing of software to resolve defects and implement user stories.
· Develop and commit to test-driven development.
· Utilize modern development practices to solve complex problems related to the team’s domain.
Project And Team Coordination
· Communicate project status regularly, inclusive of all pertinent details.
· Actively participate in planning meetings related to assigned areas.
· Coordinate with other developers and the team, working to understand how best to implement change requests.
Expertise and Tools Development
· Work to develop a good expertise in your team’s area of responsibility.
· Work to develop a good understanding of tools, technologies, and processes for software development.
· Assist in writing, sizing, and breaking down user stories and defects.
· Assist in conducting peer reviews.
· Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering, & equivalent experience.
Required Skills
· 3 to 5 years’ experience in developing CAD\CAM commercial applications in C++.
· 3 to 5 years’ experience in one of the domain areas for the target scrum team.
· Experience developing for Microsoft Windows using Visual Studio.
· Experience with standard software development practices such as source control, peer reviews, and unit testing.
· Experience with computational geometry and algorithms development.
· Solid understanding of object-oriented development.
Preferred Skills
· Experience with agile software development a plus.
