Head of Digital Solutions – Business Area Machining
Do you thrive at the intersection of strategy, technology, and transformation? Ready to shape the digital future at a global industrial leader? At Sandvik, we’re accelerating our digital journey—and we’re looking for someone who can turn bold ideas into real-world impact.
Some words about your new team
We’re a passionate group driving digital innovation across Sandvik’s Machining business area segment. From AI-powered services to connected platforms, we’re reimagining how technology creates value for our customers. Collaboration is our superpower—we work across divisions, geographies, and functions to make things happen. Join a team that’s not just talking about the future, but building it. We have clear and ambitious targets and are now mobilizing the team that will make it happen! Are you the leader we are looking for?
Your mission
As Head of Digital Solutions, you lead the charge in connecting digital strategy with business value. You bring clarity to complexity, aligning initiatives across a diverse portfolio and ensuring we move fast—without losing focus. This role is all about influence, not hierarchy. You inspire with vision, but you’re also hands-on, pragmatic, and ready to roll up your sleeves.
Every day looks a little different. One moment you’re aligning with division leads on strategic priorities, the next you’re unblocking a cross-functional team or refining a dashboard to track progress. You connect dots others don’t see, and you keep momentum high by making outcomes visible and shared.
You:
- Drive a digital agenda that balances ambition with execution
- Facilitate collaboration across product, IT, and business teams
- Prioritize initiatives based on ROI, feasibility, and strategic fit
- Simplify governance and accelerate delivery
- Translate strategy into action—and action into results
The role reports to the CIO and sponsor for Digital Solutions Board. As Head of Digital Solutions, you lead the Digital Solutions Board for Machining and will work closely with different stakeholders across Sandvik including all divisions within Machining. The location for the role is flexible and preferably based in Europe.
Your profile
You bring a strong grasp of digital product development, data-driven services, and platform thinking—especially in industrial or B2B settings. You’re comfortable navigating complex stakeholder landscapes and know how to lead without formal authority. Experience with AI, IoT, and connected services is a big plus, as is the ability to bridge business and technology. You can paint the big picture, yet act with urgency, and always keep the customer and value creation in focus.
Resilience, curiosity, and a growth mindset define your approach. You challenge silos, simplify the complex, and keep teams aligned and energized. Exceptional communication skills are one of your standout strengths. You secure strategy execution and have the ability to make strategy tangible and progress visible. Above all, you’re driven by outcomes, not process.
Our culture
At Sandvik, we’re tech driven, innovative and entrepreneurial. We believe that success is a team effort so we value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive culture where people can be themselves and reach their full potential. We invest in supporting each other, learning together and celebrating our differences. Visit our stories hub, LinkedIn or Facebook to get to know us further.
