People Insights Platform Lead (Hands-On)
Purpose of the Role
The People Insights Platform Lead is a hands-on technical and strategic role responsible for building, owning, and evolving the Group-wide People Insights Platform. This includes developing core Power BI models, dashboards, data transformations, and semantic structures while driving the platform vision and operating model. The role ensures one source of truth, scalable analytics products, and self-service insights across all Business Areas (BAs).
This is a 'player–coach' role: you will personally build solutions while also shaping the platform direction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Platform Ownership & Governance
- Own and develop the People Insights Platform, including semantic models, data structures, and metrics.
- Build and maintain core platform components directly (Power BI models, DAX measures, dataflows).
- Govern platform standards, architecture, and technical roadmap.
2. Delivery Leadership
- Lead delivery cycles: intake, prioritisation, backlog refinement, and sprint execution.
- Actively contribute to delivery by developing dashboards, data models, and prototypes.
- Ensure stable, scalable, high-quality platform releases.
3. Hands-On Product & Dashboard Development
- Build Group-wide dashboards, scorecards, and analytics products.
- Develop semantic models, reusable templates, and Power BI components.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and working solutions.
4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with BA People Analytics Partners, Group PA, and IT.
- Explain technical decisions clearly and guide stakeholders in platform usage.
- Support adoption through hands-on training, onboarding, and solution walkthroughs.
5. Data Engineering Oversight
- Work closely with data engineers and contribute to data ingestion and transformation work.
- Perform hands-on data preparation, validation, and modelling.
- Ensure robust pipelines for analytics and reporting.
6. Strategic Enablement
- Enable advanced analytics, AI, and cross-domain insights through platform foundations.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation of analytics products.
Skills & Experience
- Proven, hands-on experience developing enterprise Power BI solutions.
- Strong DAX, data modelling, and semantic layer design capabilities.
- Experience working with ETL/ELT, SQL, or data transformation tools.
- Ability to engage cross-functionally and translate business needs into analytics products.
- Experience with HR data is a plus.
