Pay range is $85k to $110k, depending upon level of experience.

Key performance areas

The US Benefits and Pension Manager will focus on retirement and health and welfare benefit plans. The Manager works with colleagues both inside the organization and outside service providers to ensure the benefits strategy and execution reflect the needs of Sandvik and our employees. This position will ensure the company is enrolled in the most efficient and cost-effective health and welfare programs each year, as well as managing the various benefit programs within Sandvik.

Main Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Develop company-wide benefit programs for 3,200 full-time employees
  • Recommend strategies for benefit program enhancements, while reducing and controlling costs
  • Develops and leads key benefit programs including Health and Welfare (H&W), Defined Benefit (DB), Defined Contribution (DC), and Retiree Medical Plans (RM)
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on the plans’ provisions and operations
  • Ensures the H&W, DC, DB, and RM plans are coordinated efficiently externally and internally, and in accordance with the plan documents and legal requirements
  • Handles provider contracts pertaining to the H&W, DC, DB and RM plans
  • Works closely with internal resources on the implementation of 401(k) design changes in HRIS, and leads UAT
  • Audits plan cost and design, and ensures competitiveness within the industry
  • Leads all aspects of and coordinates all required compliance matters such as reporting and disclosures
  • Acts as an experienced resource on plan administration, M&A diligence and integration, and plan functionality within Dayforce
  • Drives communication strategy of all plans and writes/edits communications
  • Ensures program practices are consistent with organizational objectives
  • Cultivates relationships with providers
  • Coaches teammates on retirement plan administration
  • Ensures retirement plans adhere to regulatory and legal requirements
  • Contributes to or leads benefit projects pertaining to employee benefits other than DB, DC, or RM plans

Your Profile

You possess a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance or accounting, MBA desired. Position requires a minimum of 12 years satisfactory progression in a Finance or Accounting Career. Significant experience with employee benefits, including at least four years of recent retirement plan management responsibility.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience testing and implementing 401(k) changes in HRIS
  • In-depth knowledge of policies, processes and procedures pertaining to qualified and non-qualified defined benefit pensions, 401(k) plans, and executive deferred compensation plans
  • Experience crafting or coordinating health and welfare plans
  • Strong communication skills including collaboration, coaching and influencing others, with internal customers and suppliers of financial services
  • Experience managing cross-functional benefit plan projects
  • Experience working in a public multi-division corporation
  • Experience managing benefits related to merger and acquisition activities
  • Ability to think, plan, communicate, collaborate and manage optimally in a fast-paced environment
  • High level proficiency in Excel, Power Point, and Word
  • Must be a legal resident of the United States of America
  • Travel ability of up to 10%, both domestic and foreign

Desirable Requirements:

  • CEBS certification
  • Proficiency in Workday

Pay Range is $83,000 to $125,000 annualized, depending upon qualifications and level of experience.
