Your mission

As Managing Director, you set the strategic direction and turn plans into action. You shape long-term strategies, identify market opportunities, drive synergies, and lead innovation and digitalization to strengthen our competitive edge. You oversee operations across production, supply chain, and customer service, ensuring efficiency and compliance with governance standards. You’re representing Sphinx Tools externally, maintaining and developing strong relationships with customers, partners, and regulatory bodies while collaborating closely with Sandvik Coromant and other business units within the group.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading by communicating the vision clearly, empowering teams, and delivering results through accountability and engagement.
  • Building and developing a strong leadership team, nurturing talent and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Driving the Sandvik Coromant cultural integration and building and developing a high-performing management team.
  • Driving sales and marketing strategies, setting ambitious targets, and ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Monitoring financial performance, managing budgets, and implementing corrective actions to secure profitability and sustainable growth.

You’re based in Solothurn, Switzerland, and report to the Head of M&A at Sandvik Coromant.

Your profile

Your background includes extensive experience in senior leadership within manufacturing or industrial sectors. A university degree in engineering, industrial manufacturing, or business administration is essential, and an MBA is a plus. Proficiency in governance and compliance frameworks, as well as experience in driving digitalization and innovation, is key. You’re comfortable leading complex sales and marketing strategies and know how to build strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders. Fluent German and English are mandatory, and French is an advantage.

Success in this role means being an excellent communicator and negotiator, capable of leading organizational change and fostering a high-performance culture aligned with Sandvik’s leadership principles. You combine strategic thinking with strong financial acumen and understand how to translate vision into measurable results.
