Territory Accountant

Job Summary
Sandvik is seeking a dynamic and customer-oriented individual to join our team as Territory Accountant for Deswik Indonesia entity. The Accounting Professional play a vital role to provide support to the Regional Finance Manager and Territory Manager Indonesia through the day-to-day management of the business administration and financial services for Deswik.
The focus areas for the position are responsibility of full cycle accounting for Deswik Indonesia entity, oversight of accounting service providers for domestic and international tax compliance (including monthly/quarterly tax filings, annual income tax filings, indirect taxes, payroll, employment taxes, cross-border taxes etc.) and assist in corporate secretarial affairs for Deswik Indonesia. The position will also require AP and AR processing on a day-to-day basis along with ad-hoc administrative tasks for the Deswik Indonesia entity. In addition, approximately 30% of the time will be spent in supporting tasks for Sandvik finance team in Jakarta.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the accounting records and related reporting are up to date and accurate to provide the Regional Finance Manager and Territory Manager with reliable financial information on which to base decisions.
A responsible individual who puts in the work to ensure the deadlines and statutory obligations are met. Ensure productivity goals are met. Works effectively within the existing processes and systems. Provides and accepts feedback on improving existing processes and systems with efficiency and quality. Identifies and acts upon appropriate improvements.
Prioritizes activities based on direction from the Regional Finance Manager, Territory Manager and Group Controller. Responds to requests for assistance; meets commitments; keeps customers / Deswik employees informed at appropriate times.
Teamwork; engaging with customers and Deswik stakeholders in a positive way.
Ensure the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions are running smoothly and consistently.
Manage accounts receivables and accounts payables accurately and efficiently.
Identifies and rectifies errors in data entry to ensure accuracy of accounts.
Ensure the business is protected through credit control.
Balance sheet reconciliations.
Monthly intracompany invoices (on-charges and back-charges) and reconciliations.
End of year data collection and formal reconciliation for reporting purposes.
Prepares accounts for external firm for lodgment of statutory obligations and other governance reporting.
Ensuring financial records are accurately maintained.
Manages internal archives.
Analyses the balance sheet and profit and loss statements and reports on this to the Regional Finance Manager, Territory Manager and Group Controller.
Liaises with external banking for credit card management.
Ensure legislative requirements are met and any changes to legislation are made promptly.
Maintains and renews company insurances including Workers Compensation, Professional Indemnity, Public Liability, General Business, Travel, and any other Insurance delegated by the Commercial Manager. Works with the Regional Finance manager to ensure the most cost-effective solutions are in place and the risk to the business is managed and minimized.
Education, Experience & Competencies
Graduate qualification in accounting and working towards CA/CPA.
Broad base of knowledge in financial reporting in line with IFRS and local GAAP, local and international tax compliance, business administration for a similar sized business, payroll, and corporate secretarial affairs for Deswik Indonesia.
Experience with Xero or similar sized ERPs.
Excellent technology skills, with strong Excel and/or Data Analysis skills.
More than 5 years’ accounting experience working for a medium sized business.
Fluency in English– speaking, reading and writing.\
