About The Role
We are seeking a proactive Assistant Accountant – Document Control to support the Senior Accountant by maintaining strong documentation controls and ensuring compliance with group accounting policies, financial reporting requirements, and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Manage and control all finance-related documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
- Ensure proper document numbering, filing, indexing, and version control in line with company policies.
- Maintain well-structured digital and physical (hard-copy) filing systems for easy retrieval and traceability.
- Support audit and compliance readiness, including internal audits, external audits, and tax audits.
- Assist in the preparation and compilation of documentation supporting group netting payments.
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping, safety, and organization within the records and archive areas.
- Maintain monthly records of document storage boxes received from various departments.
- Track and report monthly documentation requests and retrieval rates from storage and archives.
- Prepare monthly reports on non-returnable or outstanding documents from the archive.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant.
Qualification & Competencies
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce (BCom), or a related field.
- At least two (2) years’ post-qualification experience in a similar role, preferably within a finance or records management environment.
- Strong ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, supported by excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Commitment to good housekeeping practices and maintenance of high standards of safety and compliance in the workplace.
