Senior Accountant Romania

The role

Based in Romania, Bucharest, the accountant performs daily duties within the area of accounting and bookkeeping, is responsible for providing financial information to the management and accounting functions, researching and analysing accounting data, preparing reports according to the legislation in force and the internal rules of the group.

Accountant role ensures compliance with local legislation and Sandvik processes and regulations in the Accounts Payable or Receivable area. You will assist with local financial plans and policies. Through your activities you will support Sandvik business, and you will be a contact point for escalated invoice mismatches.

The role reports directly to Chief Accountant role.

Your mission

Your work will include daily posting and accounting of primary and secondary accounting documents in accordance with Romanian legislation and corporate requirements.

You will be responsible for accuracy and completeness of daily accounting transactions including the correct classification of GL account and cost center.

You work will include cooperation with other departments within the company.

Other responsibilities executed on daily or ad hoc basis will the following ones:

  • Gather and organize the supporting documents for the entries processed.
  • Use accounting expertise to identify and communicate issues.
  • Processing and reconciling bank statement for EUR bank account, on a daily basis.
  • Keep contact with clients and support them to solve the open issues.
  • Provide support to the other departments.
  • Perform the monthly reconciliation with suppliers and clients.
  • Involved in month - and year-end closing process (close transaction, including intercompany reconciliations, analytics).
  • Perform any additional tasks directly and indirectly related to the position assigned by management representatives.
  • Assist Chief Accountant to prepare internal and external financial reports.
  • Ensure all activities are being carried out in accordance with Company Values and current Company policies and procedures.
  • Monthly tracking of stocks, inventory items and fixed assets.
  • Active participation on annual inventory of fixed assets and inventory

Your character

You have a bachelor’s degree in financial field/accounting. We expect about 5-year professional experience in relevant role. Possession SAP knowledge is a considered as advantage, and other ERP’s experience being benefit.

You need to possess excellent knowledge of data entry management; you need to be able to pay attention to detail and you must be deadline oriented. We’re looking for someone with agile and open personality, having to-do attitude. Your English needs to be on intermediate level, knowledge of the local language on native level is a must.
