Campus Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Sandvik Mining, a global market leader in mining and rock excavation, has an opening for a Campus Facilities Maintenance Specialist. The primary function of this role is to oversee the maintenance and operational functions of our Elko campus facilities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • HVAC Systems Maintenance: Perform the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.

  • Parking Lot Maintenance and Snow Removal: Manage the upkeep of parking lots, including resurfacing and line painting. Perform snow removal operations to ensure safe and accessible parking and access road areas.

  • Landscaping Management: Maintain attractive and functional outdoor spaces.

  • Building Compliance: Ensure all facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations and codes. Conduct regular inspections and coordinate necessary repairs and upgrades.

  • Front Desk Admissions Assistance: Assist with front desk operations, including visitor admissions and handling inquiries.

  • Wash Bays and Paint Booths Maintenance: Support the maintenance and cleanliness of wash bays and paint booths to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Janitorial Services Management: Oversee and assist with janitorial services to maintain a clean and hygienic campus environment.

  • Continuous Safety Support: Promote and enforce a culture of safety throughout the campus.

  • IT Support Assistance: Provide basic IT support, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

  • Video Surveillance Maintenance: Maintain and monitor video surveillance systems to ensure campus security.

  • Access Controls Assistance: Help manage access controls, including issuing and deactivating access cards and keys.

  • Ancillary Services Management: Oversee the maintenance of ancillary services such as vending machines and water dispensers.

  • Vehicle and Equipment coordination: Ensure pool vehicles are maintained and support equipment mobilization and storage.

  • Weed abatement: make certain perimeter fences are free from weed and in good working order.

  • Environmental compliance: assist with disposal of hydrocarbons and maintain stormwater systems. Ensure air permitting requirements are met and oil separators cleaned and maintained.

Safety and Environment

• Adherence to the Sandvik Environmental, Health & Safety Policy.

• Attending health and safety related trainings.

• Performing Risk Assessments (“Take Five”) prior to each task.

• Identification and reporting of hazards.

• Working in a safe manner as reasonably practicable.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in facility or property management or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building maintenance, and compliance standards.

EDUCATION

Basic Course(s) related to Facility Management

LICENSES & CERTIFICATES

  • Light Vehicle Drivers License

  • Forklift License (preferred)

COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic IT troubleshooting knowledge.
