Job Summary
Sandvik is seeking a dynamic and customer-oriented individual to join our team as Service Engineer specializing in Mining Equipment / Rotary Drills. The Service Engineer will play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction through technical expertise and effective communication.
This position will support Indonesia team for Sandvik business by providing monitoring component life cycles against Predictive Operating Cost (POC) and analyzing root causes if premature failures happen. Lead redesign initiatives where necessary and evaluate customer modifications in system, component and safety, summary report to factory with comparation from OEM design cost-effectiveness, and maintenance efficiency, to improve machine physical availability, MTTR, and MTBF
Key Responsibilities
Provide pre-sales and/or post-sales technical support specific with component life target base on POC model.
Troubleshoot, investigate, resolve, and develop innovative solutions to more complex technical problems that arise during start-up and operation, that impact to machine component life (Oil recommendation, procedure, etc)
Suggestion to factory if there is any improvement in system that impact to safety and machine performance
Report and document executed work according to relevant procedures and work instructions, in a best practice template or any document related with Sandvik standard
Make report with local bulletins improvement if any improvement that has been approved by Territory level to be standard improvement in all types of unit model
Report and explore the ongoing effects of each of these continuous improvements on Physical Availability, MTTR, and MTBF to following and achieve
Research, evaluate, and recommend new products or equipment's upgrades that will meet customer needs, this includes with if customers have local improvements or modifications compared both cost and maintenance efficiency compared with OEM standard.
Establish and maintain ongoing positive relationships with customers to develop secure and develop their future business.
Perform regular visits from a Product Support person whose visits would entail highlighting areas of improvement for maintenance, parts and operation. Collect operational and maintenance trend data, and identify reliability risks, submit written reports that detail equipment conditions, and recommend improvements, upgrades or additional services to improve reliability.
Train customers on the features of the equipment they have purchased. Proactive follow up calls and mails to the customer, keeping them updated + relationship building.
Performs other related duties as assigned by manager.
Education, Experience & Competencies
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, equivalent relative experience may be considered.
More than 6 years exposure to Mining equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, and/or rebuilds. Familiarity with the mining industry is highly preferred.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, along with a high level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Intermediate English proficiency
Have expert knowledge, reading and understanding related to Hydraulic and Electric drawing
Expert and familiar with component drawing, design and operation of software related to this
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to travel as needed.
