Application Specialist

We work closely together with our Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions sales areas to serve our customers across the globe, striving for the highest level of service and support.

We are looking for a dynamic and energetic Application Specialist, Global Automation Services. The position is permanent and based in Tampere, Finland and reports to the Operations Manager.

Your mission

As an Application Specialist, you will be a member of Automation product support group supporting mining automation aftermarket business. You are responsible for supporting the Newtrax product. You will provide sales areas and customer with technical support in all phases of Newtrax deployments’ life cycle where safety awareness is paramount. You will provide the field support, equipment and systems starts ups and training support together with equipment teams to sales areas and customers. We expect that you will perform your duties with a high degree of independence, initiative and judgment. You will work in close collaboration with product line, product development, project office and supply chain, training and product support. Succeeding in the job requires active communication between the internal and external key stakeholders worldwide.

In addition, you will:

  • Participate in and support new product and offering development projects.
  • Support commissioning of Newtrax deployments systems and equipment in the field.
  • Support Newtrax competence development and training activities both in the factory and in the field.
  • Owning and ensuring successful offering customer demonstrations.
  • Participate in developing competitive product support to support automation business growth and life cycle-services.
  • Participate in resolving technical enquiries, provide diagnostic and product application support to sales area teams.

Your work consists of wide range of daily support tasks for product support, product development testing, customer demonstrations, systems start up, and trainings; special focus on ‘unit down’ situations.

Your background and what we find important

You will need to be passionate to lead and to take a proactive approach in “getting things done” while maintaining good team collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

You will possess a suitable degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in technology or equivalent studies and have at least couple of years’ experience in product support, maintenance or aftermarket business. Experience in the heavy machinery, underground drilling equipment and/or mining and construction business is highly valued. You are capable of clearly expressing your ideas and have a strong interest in working with experts across cultural boundaries. International travel is part of this role. Fluency in English as well as support attitude are prerequisites. You are eager to learn and have a passion for working within the mining industry.

You have a passion to excellent customer service, and you can easily establish and maintain good contact network with your natural, good communication and teamwork skills. You are curious to learn all the time, new products, solutions, processes and IT tools – lifelong learning is your key motivator.
