Job Title : Engineer- Machine Shop

About the Role : .

Develop and improve on the processes related to Steel Casting Machining
Selection and approval of machining outsourcing activities
Drive process improvements
Evaluate and propose use of new technology and equipment
Recommend and implement new technologies and equipment.
Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and productivity standards.
To coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for machining-related outsourcing, trials, and continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in process planning and execution of machining operations on cast components, including setup, tool selection, and fixture arrangements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date machining setup sheets and work instructions.
Monitor machining parameters and recommend improvements for productivity and surface finish.
Provide hands-on support for CNC and conventional machines (HBM, VMC, HMC, VTL).
Participate in troubleshooting during machining issues, supporting root cause analysis.
Coordinate with quality and production teams to ensure machining quality and dimensional accuracy.
Support selection and monitoring of subcontracted machining vendors.
Perform time studies and contribute to cost estimation of machining processes.
Ensure documentation and implementation of standard operating procedures in the machine shop.
Collaborate with the maintenance team for equipment upkeep and preventive maintenance planning.
Promote 5S, safety, and lean manufacturing principles on the shop floor.
Facilitate training of shopfloor operators in machine handling, tool care, and quality awareness.

Qualifications: Diploma/Graduate in Mechanical or relevant fields
