Engineering Support Manager

Within our Parts & Services Division (part of Business Area Mining), our mission is to keep our equipment running at its full potential. We are responsible for the aftermarket business worldwide, developing tailored offerings and services to support our customers throughout the equipment lifecycle and deliver competitive and consistent service for Sandvik equipment. Our customer base ranges from large multinational mining and infrastructure companies and contractors to small and medium-sized enterprises, all of whom rely on our equipment.

We are now offering an exciting opportunity within the Parts & Services Product Line for a passionate, self-driven, and dynamic Engineering Support Manager to join our Engineering team. We are seeking an individual who takes ownership of their actions and has a strong focus on aftermarket.

The Engineering Support Manager will report to the Engineering Manager, Product Line P&S and will be based in Tampere.

About the job

As the Engineering Support Manager, you will lead a small team based in Finland to design, develop, and support aftermarket solutions for the Underground, Boom surface drills, and Load & Haul divisions manufactured at the Sandvik Tampere and Turku facilities. You will be responsible for identifying and implementing initiatives, processes, and solutions to maintain and develop market position and achieve significant financial growth with solid profitability. You will work closely with the equipment divisions Product Line and Engineering teams to coordinate, plan, and define activities to deliver quality Aftermarket kits on time and to specification.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in engineering or equivalent technical studies.
Experience in heavy machinery and/or the mining and construction business is highly valued. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are key criteria for this role.
You should have demonstrated leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate, persuade, and negotiate.
A high level of professionalism and integrity is essential.
You should be actively networking, eager to learn, and passionate about working within a team.
A high service attitude in a demanding environment and the ability to manage varying customer requirements are crucial.
You should understand priorities and manage your own daily work and that of your team in a balanced way.
Fluency in Finnish and English is required.
