Sandvik Business Area Mining has an opportunity for a Technical Writer in its Rotary Drilling Division in Alachua, Florida (USA).

YOUR MISSION

The Technical Writer is responsible for writing technical copy for various company publications, gathering information to create new and clean up existing current-state system documentation. The role helps maintains product integrity to drive safety & quality throughout the product life cycle by delivering a consistent and interactive customer experience within multiple languages and across multiple web sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains licenses, provides training, and initiates implementation of content management and documentation development systems.

  • Engages in and supports the Global Steering Committee Documentation activities.

  • Collects information from subject matter experts to generate relevant documentation and performs tasks as assigned during the New Product Development process.

  • Creates, reviews, and maintains end-user technical documentation for proper content and completeness while adhering to all relevant regulations, standards, and rotary drilling guidelines.

  • Creates, reviews, structures, and maintains spare part requirements utilizing Teamcenter’s PLM system.

  • Creates, reviews, and maintains bulletins for all related technical documentation.

  • Supports Technical Services Organization with documentation integrity within the incident management and technical feedback system.

  • Monitors internal and external facing documentation utilizing My Sandvik and Salesforce.

  • Develops and maintains a Simplified Technical English directory.

  • Demonstrates respect and commitment to Sandvik Alachua's ISO Integrated Management System (IMS) by following policies, guidelines, departmental processes, regulatory requirements, and others, while taking accountability for its effectiveness and continual improvement.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Ability to work in the U.S. on an indefinite basis without employer sponsorship

  • BA/BS Degree: 5+ years of related experience in heavy equipment or related industry OR AA Degree or Vocational Tech Education with 10+ years of related experience in the heavy equipment industry

  • Proven advanced working experience with Documoto/Docustudio, SDL Tridion, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator), and Microsoft Office 365 •

  • Reading, and interpreting engineering documentation to develop step-by-step operational and maintenance procedures for heavy equipment (preferred) or related industry.

  • Basic familiarity with engineering change processes.

  • Familiarity with LEAN and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).

  • Advanced Documoto/Docustudio, SDL Tridion, and Oxygen experience (Administrative/Key User)
