We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Production Manager to join our team!

Key Performance Areas

Responsible for the day-to-day direction of the manufacturing department and for maintaining a team environment at the Mebane facility. Ensure process improvements and proper production of high-quality parts without defects while meeting or exceeding Key Indicators and Customer expectations. Develop and lead projects and analyze project specifications, including return on investments to meet short-term and long-term company goals.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Create and promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly atmosphere while holding all employees accountable to policies and practices. Responsible for planning, scheduling, directing, and assigning activities related to the flow of material, utilization of employees and productivity levels for production teams and supervisors in line with company financial and budgetary objectives.
• Effectively communicate production status to all levels of management and key stakeholders.
• Facilitate the communication of pertinent information with other teams, departments, functional areas, and other key stakeholders to encourage open communication.
• Drive Sandvik strategy to achieve global and local KPIs by identifying gaps in production processes, procedures and machine utilization.
• Develop self-directed teams that empower each individual and encourage them to learn new skills, creating a flexible workforce.
• Hire and provide training for employees and manage personnel issues relating to attendance, vacation scheduling and corrective action.

• Support machine purchasing, tooling, fixtures, inspection equipment and all other equipment to complete the manufacturing process necessary to produce a finished item.

Competencies

• Must be able to leverage strong leadership, verbal and written communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with management and employees.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English and possess good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft products.
• Adept in project management.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years in a related industry and management experience with a focus on leading production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience implementing cost containment measures that increase bottom line.
• Experience with strategy development and leading change.

Education

• BS degree in engineering preferred.

Other Information

• Global travel may be required.

• In addition, the employee may be assigned other duties within the area of their competence.
