In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of technology trends and changing market conditions driven by customer needs. You are proactive in predicting forecasts and identify opportunities, and are successful in finding ways of turning strategy into operational performance. You establish profitable relationships with our customers and partners, and you ensure synergies and great collaboration across our organization. You report to the US/NAFTA Sales Manager and work closely with a global team of professionals across the across our Additive Manufacturing division, often utilizing digital tools combined with physical meetings to collaborate together as ambassadors for our business and our core values

Sandvik-Additive Manufacturing is seeking a Business Development Professional to join our team. You will work with our customers and manufacturers to identify, consult and develop new as well as existing Metal Powder & 3D printing customer opportunities. You will propose Sandvik Metal Powder solutions to address our customers’ pain points and solve engineering challenges, expanding our business relationships and growing our business in the NAFTA market.

You’ll be at the forefront of technology trends and evolving market conditions driven by customer needs, as you proactively forecast and identify opportunities. You are successful in effectively transforming strategy into operational performance and growth. You establish profitable relationships with our customers and partners, and you ensure synergies and great collaboration across our organization. You report to the Lead Sales Manager for NAFTA and will work closely with a global team of professionals across our Additive Manufacturing division, utilizing digital tools to enhance collaboration together as ambassadors for our business and our core values

Location

Location of this role is US / Flexible. It is highly preferred that candidates be based in the western half of the US (Chicago/Houston and westward). This role is field based with 50% domestic travel required. Some international travel is required, as well..

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing customer needs & generate new opportunities and handle all aspects of the end-to-end sales process
  • Build a network; research prospective clients through the use of web/social media, internal databases and external tools to identify leads
  • Identify and approach businesses which fit within our target market to Continue to grow your influence within your Accounts to generate additional business as your clients’ progress in their use of Additive Manufacturing & Powder Metallurgy
  • Representing us at key industry events, conferences and exhibitions internationally and within the US.
  • Coaching, educating, and training customers and colleagues on our wide range of customized Metal Powder Solutions.
  • Proactively collaborate with all Sandvik divisions and across our Additive Manufacturing division, acting as an ambassador for our business and our core values

Your Profile

You have demonstrated an effective background within business development, B2B Sales and an interest or passion in Industrial manufacturing utilizing Additive Manufacturing or Powder Metallurgy. Your experience and knowledge is preferably anchored by a relevant university degree, such as Business, Engineering or related course of study. You are curious and tenacious, working closely with customers to solve their challenges. You possess a technical affinity to effectively sell our offering. You can keenly identify opportunities to develop our business within your region.

To be a great fit for this position, you have a commercial mindset, independent in approach and are genuinely skilled in developing durable customer relations. You are engaged in customers challenges and able to collaborate in developing sustainable customer solutions. A background from the metals industry or metal powder sector with experience of the Additive Manufacturing Industry is highly advantageous.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years in technical sales and support experience.
  • Preferred, Bachelor's degree in Business Development, Engineering or related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • A second language within our region (eg., Spanish, French) will be a plus
  • Must be able to work successfully under pressure and handle multiple issues and competing priorities.
  • Experience with project management tools and methods
  • Solid proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Must be eligible to legally work in the US.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.

Annualized base salary range is $95,000 - $125,000, depending upon level of skills and experience. This role is eligible for variable incentive as well as a 401k retirement program with employer match and employer contribution.
